Processing
WACOSIT® profiles and winding components can be sawn, ground, drilled, milled, machine-turned and, up to a certain thickness, can be punched as well. Subsequent processing of the parts produced accurate to size is not normally necessary. Hard-alloy or diamond-tipped tools are needed for processing. Wet processing is recommended to avoid dust emission and local overheating. An extraction fixture is required for processing in the dry state, in which case it shall be observed that the dust given from machining carbon-epoxy profiles is electrically conductive.
